The Wildmind Yard was a two-year long live project between Loughborough Farm and London South Bank University. Its aim was to rehouse a mindfulness garden, the Wildmind Yard, which was relocated during the recent redevelopment of the site.
The first stage included the design and construction of lightweight modular elements by architecture students and farm volunteers. The units were designed to be easy to move and install, considering recycled and regenerative materials and techniques. They can serve as seating and planting elements, and when assembled, they can form a small-scale event space. The project was developed using a co-design strategy, involving the farm’s volunteers in the design and assembly process to ensure a participatory approach and offer practical skills for all participants, with the potential for creating future revenue streams for the farm.
